🐭 Neon’s 9 Lives – Devlog #3

Hey everyone!

Time for our third devlog—and this one’s got a lot of cool updates. Since our first playable demo went live, we’ve been working hard on both visual upgrades and new gameplay content. Let’s dive right in.

📺 New CRT & Post-Processing Effects

Neon’s underworld adventure just got a retro upgrade! We’ve added a CRT filter and a handful of post-processing effects that give the game that crunchy, old-school arcade vibe.

🐀 Meet the Mice: Crafty Little Enemies

There can’t be a cat with a gun running around and no mice, right?
A lot of people asked us: “Where are the mice?” Well… here they are.

  • Shooter Mice – They may look identical, but each comes with a different shooting pattern. One sprays bullets, another goes for sniping—you’ll have to stay on your toes to figure them out.

  • Explosive Mice – These little troublemakers don’t bother with aiming. They just charge in and blow themselves up, like overly dramatic fireworks. Annoying? Absolutely. Dangerous? Even more so.

Even though they all look alike, you’ll never quite know what you’re dealing with until they make their move.

👑 A New Mystery Boss on Level 6

All these mice aren’t just running around for fun—they’re working for someone. A new mysterious boss is waiting on Level 6, pulling the strings behind the scenes.
We won’t spoil too much yet, but here’s a hint: if you thought the underworld was chaotic before, just wait until you see who’s in charge of the rodents.

🛠️ Hotfixes & Improvements

Alongside all this new content, the next build will also bring a bunch of fixes and small improvements. If you ran into bugs while playing the first demo, please let us know in the comments—we’re watching closely and will squash as many as we can.

That’s it for this update!
Thank you for all the feedback so far—it’s been super motivating seeing people try the game out and share their thoughts. Keep those comments coming, and stay tuned for more progress on Neon’s 9 Lives!
